This book puts a spotlight on issues of public governance and public management in several South Asian countries by examining the ideas of institutional trust in public institutions in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal, social capital and accountability in health service in Nepal, job satisfaction of civil servants of Bhutan and women in Sri Lankan Civil Service. Drawing upon research work by young scholars it presents interesting snapshots of governance and public management in the region.
South Asia is the home of almost a quarter of the world`s population with different development trajectories. One issue that binds the different countries of the region is the issue of governance or rather lack of it. This book provides insights into the issues of governance and public sector management of the region by weaving a rich tapestry based on research.
